Corporate Celebration: More than fun and games
Simple or elaborate. Planned or impromptu. Small or large. Rowdy or subdued. Celebrations are an important part of creating a workplace where people feel energized and valued. Develop your sense of community and team spirit by making an effort to appreciate one another and recognize your individual and collective accomplishments.

Team-Building Activities

Here are a few ideas to get you started:
  1. Choose a symbol (mascot, trophy, object) that’s important to the group and pass it around in honor of contributions and accomplishments.
  2. Thank each other with small gifts, notes, emails, voicemails and cards.
  3. Relax and eat together.
  4. Play music. Choose (or write) a theme song.
  5. Get out of your comfort zone with team-building games and exercises.
  6. Hold an impromptu awards ceremony for your department or work group.
  7. Do a strength acknowledgement. Bombard each other with compliments and recognition — things people do well, contributions they make, value they bring.
